Hello members, We will be holding our Annual Fall Inservice General Membership Meeting next week and we would love for you to join us. Details and link to register below. What: LCCEF Fall Inservice General Membership MeetingWhen: Sep 24, 2020 3:00 ...
Members received the following one-sheets in an email on Thursday, September 10, and we wanted to share them on LCCEF.org as well. They lay out the details for the three proposed constitutional amendments you will be voting on, and will hopefully answer any questions you may have. If you have additional questions, please attend the informational Zoom session on Thursday, Sep 17, 2020 at 5:15 PM, or leave your questions in the comments on the post.
Good news! On Sept 8, 2020, we received results of the “Us Too” Grievance arbitration against LCC. LCCEF is awarded step increases for all .5 FTE step eligible employees with retroactive payment back to July 1, 2019. Arbitrator Henry sustained the grievance, finding that LCC violated the plain terms of Paragraph 15 of the CBA’s “Us Too” provision by not providing a step increase to the LCCEF members after it provided a step increase to LCCEA.
On this glorious Labor Day weekend, we wish you and your family health, happiness, and relaxation. We want to recognize the hard work you do to support our students and let you know how honored we are to be working for you. We also want to give our thanks to the countless workers and labor unions whose efforts throughout time have allowed us to have this three-day weekend (and weekends in general) as a break from our labors.
We encourage you to think about one way having a union has helped you, and one way YOU can help your union be stronger and better? Post your thoughts in the comments section below.
There has been growing pressure lately to reopen schools and have our members resume their work in person. We want to ensure any return to work occurs only under conditions that protect workers, students, and the health of the community.
To meet these objectives, the Lane County Labor Chapter Education Caucus (representing educational workers in K-12, community college, and university settings) has developed a set of ten principles for the safe re-opening of educational institutions in our area.
LCCEF endorses these principles and urges our members to pledge their support and sign the associated petition (please share with friends and family as well). They reflect our shared commitment to ensuring safe working and learning conditions for all!
Update: We have enough interest in the Stipend Committee but are still looking for members interested in joining the Hardship Fund and Strike Fund Committees.
Please fill out the form linked in the full post if you are interested in joining a committee or learning more.
Good news, we have reached an agreement with the College to allow early sell-back of vacation hours this year. Every Fall Term, our contract allows classified employees to sell-back up to 16 hours of accrued vacation time at their current rate of pay, and this MOA has adjusted the dates for this year to allow that sell-back process to begin now (it will continue to be available to employees until 12/31/20).
Please see the full post for more information.
The Separation Incentive and Double-Coverage MOA has been signed by LCCEF and the College Administration and is now active.
Please comment on the post with any questions or contact us directly.
If you would like to take advantage of the Separation Incentive benefit, you will find details, instructions, and the necessary HR forms in the full post.
