General Membership Meeting:
Please Join us Wednesday at noon and again at 5:15 pm in room 4/106. This meeting will be hybrid. In this meeting we will give you an update from the bargaining team on where we are in the bargaining process. We will also be discussing organizing. There will also be time to answer questions that you may have for us.
We will send an update out as soon as we have the Zoom link.
National Union News:
Congrats to UPS for their historic tentative agreement!!! How do we know that they got a good deal? The stockholders are pissed! Their stocks dropped by 1.96%. Great job Teamsters!!!
If capitalism is fair then unionism must be. If men and women have a right to capitalize their ideas and the resources of their country, then that implies the right of men and women to capitalize their labor.

Flex Spending Vendors
We are working through the process to find a flexible spending vendor. We have interviews of the companies scheduled in August, and we would like to know more about what you are looking for. Email LCCEF@lanecc.edu with questions or concerns you may have, that you would like us to pay extra attention to or ask when we are meeting with the vendors (these meetings are part of a College search, so we are only a part of this process).

Good Thursday to my colleagues:
I’m looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible this afternoon for the Classified Appreciation Day! Please make sure to take advantage of this time, and come out as it is still a business day, according to the College Administration. Make sure to let your manager know, and at least take your lunch break to come play and invite your colleagues to come play.
I also want to ask that we also need to support our fellow union siblings at WGA and SAG-AFTRA as they are continuing their strikes for fair treatment on their residuals and stopping all potential use of AI for background actors and performers. A lot of their workforce work for pennies on the dollar, and most are like us, who live from paycheck to paycheck and are the hardest working creatives in the industry.
