PACK THE HOUSE TO SAVE THE LCC HEALTH CLINIC!

Good morning members, President Bulger announced yesterday that she removing the LCC Health Clinic from the LCC Board of Education agenda. The plan is to form a task force. But make no mistake this is a RUSE!

LCCEA President Adrienne Mitchell and Acting LCCEF President Buck Potter were summoned to President Bulger’s office and were informed that the task force will be made up of a very small group of LCC Stakeholders. LCCEA and LCCEF will be allowed to appoint ONLY one member. The task force will only be in existence for two-to-three weeks during the busiest time for LCC students studying and taking final exams and Faculty busy with grading papers and finishing up for the end of term. And, Classified Professionals are shifting from Spring term to Summer term. The time line is such that the Board will make the call on whether the Health Clinic stays or goes while students and faculty are on break. THE LCCEF IS NOT BUYING IT!

We are urging our members to send an email to the Board at:  https://actionnetwork.org/letters/save-our-lcc-health-clinic and sign up either via Zoom or in person to help save the LCC Health Clinic: https://lanecc.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_0hYeUWgtTguCHDyltEoyQA#/registration

Our goal is to urge the Board to only vote when stakeholders are present! Additionally we are urging the Board to delay the vote until this fall. We want the task force to have a reasonable amount of time for a true authentic process in which they can gather very important data and get more input from LCC stakeholders!

Please support our cause by wearing red to the Board Meeting Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 6:00pm!

In Solidarity,
Colin Vurek, Your LCCEF Vice President of Organizing.

DON’T FORGET TO WEAR RED TO THE MEETING!
