Last month’s meeting was fun but we’d love to see more faces. We’re working on a FAQ page for folks who are interested in being a Worksite Leader or part of CAT. .
We’ll also start a process of targeting departments to see who might be interested but have missed the announcements we’ve posted. I’ll be popping by to visit some of you once you are back on campus. Hope to see you then or later this month for our August Worksite Leaders meeting.
DON’T FORGET TO WEAR RED ON WEDNESDAYS!

Did you know that you can access the LCCEF Contract online? Also, we have digitized contracts going back to 2000 if you are interested let me know and I will share with you. It may be a good time to get some folks to read through the contracts to help your EC get ready for bargaining. You can find the current contract using this link https://inside.lanecc.edu/sites/default/files/hr/documents/final_lccef_contract_2016_-_2023.pdf
The only wrong question is the one you don’t ask. ?

We’re in Summer time, and things seem somewhat quiet on elections. However, as we see one revelation after another through the January 6th hearings, it’s important to understand both the implications of what actually happened that day, and in the months leading up to it, and the efforts being made at the state level in multiple states across the country, to ensure that elections remain free and fair for all voters.
The mid-term elections this coming November seem far away. Right now, what we can do is ensure that everyone has a voice.
There are voter registration efforts going on, and you can participate!
- You can help register voters in Oregon.
- You can use phone calling apps to help with voter registration efforts in key states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina, and Virginia.
- You can reach out to a candidate you are interested in and volunteer some time for their campaign.
If you have any questions about what you might be able to do, or how to get involved, feel free to contact me! —Fiora Starchild-Wolf
