Hello LCCEF members,
We will be meeting for dinner at 5PM in the Center building cafeteria this evening. The board meeting will be held in building 19 rooms 103 &104 at 6PM. Remember to wear red, please let us know if you would like a t-shirt. To show support for faculty bargaining we will stick around for public comments which will last about an hour.
If you haven’t already, please take some time to fill out the Employee Engagement and Climate Survey. This Gallup survey must be completed by Monday June 13th. You should be able to find your personalized link to the survey in your email titled “Let Your Voice Be Heard in LCC’s Employee Engagement and Climate Survey!” Please leave a comment in the last question of the survey. Some of the topics that the EC suggests are wages, benefits, understaffing, and issues with your manager. This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard.
One of our members told us that they were experiencing hardship due to the high gas prices and asked how to go about requesting to work from home. Our contract covers it in article 12.5.1.
12.5 Virtual Work Sites 12.5.1 The College is supportive of opportunities for work to be accomplished at virtual work sites. Agreements to accomplish the employee’s assignment are between the individual and the department administrator and at the discretion of the College. This pre authorized agreement must be in compliance with the terms of the contract.
It is important that you get this arrangement ahead of time and get authorization in writing (i.e. an email) from your manager.
In solidarity,
Sam Ramberg
