Volunteers Still Needed for Hardship Fund and Strike Fund Committee

Update: We have enough interest in the Stipend Committee but are still looking for members interested in joining the Hardship Fund and Strike Fund Committees.

Please fill out this form if you are interested in joining a committee or learning more.

Hardship Fund Committee

  • What this committee will do:
    • LCCEF received funds from AFT-Oregon to begin a hardship fund for our members who may need financial assistance during the pandemic. This committee will develop the criteria for grant requests and make recommendations to the Executive Council for continued funding. The EC would like the committee to explore ways to sustain the fund to continue to help members through future temporary hardships.
  • Number of volunteers needed:
    • A minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 volunteers needed.
  • Availability/Commitment level required:
    • This is a permanent committee that would meet regularly for one-hour meetings. Meeting frequency will be discussed by the committee and would depend on the committee’s ability to respond to requests between meetings.
  • Other info:
    • This is a brand new opportunity to mold and shape how this fund is developed and made available to members.

Strike Fund Committee

  • What this committee will do:
    • The Executive Committee voted to create a strike fund to provide some form of financial assistance to our members should we need to strike in the future. This committee would establish guidelines for how to build this fund and criteria for disbursement of funds.
  • Number of volunteers needed:
    • A minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 volunteers needed.
  • Availability/Commitment level required:
    • This is a permanent committee that will meet approximately once a month, for an hour. Meetings to be held on an increased, as-needed basis if an active strike is being considered.
  • Other info:
    • This is a brand new opportunity to mold and shape how this fund is developed and made available to members.

*Note: Comments are open for discussion, but if you are interested in possibly volunteering for a committee you MUST fill out the form linked at the top of this post.
