Just to clarify, #9 isn’t really an option. Fair Share Dues are now illegal due to a court case in 2018. All we are doing is removing the language. Had this vote gone down, LCCEF could still not take Fair Share Dues from members.
There is another vote scheduled for additional changes to the union’s constitution. Details to follow.
We need you!
Please consider running for office. Officer Elections will begin in October/November and we need all hands on deck. If you have questions about a specific officer position or the Executive Council in general, contact any officer.
Insurance Open Enrollment
Classified Open enrollment will run Sept. 23 – Oct. 16, with an effective date of Nov. 1.
Look for updated information from the Benefits Team about information session dates during the open enrollment period. Here’s the link to the enrollment information: https://www.lanecc.edu/hr/benefits/open-enrollment
Health Clinic Access Extended until 10/31/2019
Excerpt of an email sent to all classified staff from Sharon Daniel 9/16/19:
The College has agreed to extend Health Clinic access until October 31, 2019. As of November 1, 2019, access to the Health Clinic will not longer be available.
This would be because the new OEBB insurance does not kick in until 11/1/19 and there are a number of us who use the Health Clinic as our primary care. This will bridge that gap.
Salary changes coming your way
When will the MOA changes hit your paycheck?
Sept. 10: The 2.75 percent pay rate increase hit paychecks for payroll period Aug. 16-Aug. 31. The 2.75 percent reflects: 1.75 percent increase for move to OEBB and 1 percent increase as a cost of living adjustment.
Sept. 25: Retroactive pay for July 1 to Aug. 15 for the MOA salary schedule adjustment
Oct. 25: Look for change in insurance premium cost reflected in your paycheck.
The salary schedules are being revised and will be posted to the HR website very soon.
