General Membership Meeting
There was a general membership meeting held at 12:00pm last Friday, 3/22/2019. We know that lunch meetings can be tough for classified staff to make because of staggered schedules. We had hoped for a good turnout, but had a very small group make the meeting where we discussed bargaining.
I can’t express enough how important it is for LCCEF members, full or not, to provide input into bargaining. It is only through being united that the union succeeds. We are stronger together and the LCCEF needs your support to get the contract that we deserve!
AFT Oregon Convention (Final Notice)
The AFT Oregon State Convention takes place May 2-3, 2019. We are finding we must be very frugal with funds so we decided not to ask for delegates but to have one of the two automatic delegates attend the convention. The two automatic delegates are the President and Vice President. This year the Vice President, Kenny Ascheri will attend the convention.
Bargaining – Economic Re-opener
Details about bargaining meetings will be posted each Monday and referenced in the weekly communications update (just like this). All posts will be available through the Bargaining Committee page on the website.
Today’s post covers the meeting on 3/22/2019. Please take a few minutes to read the post and send questions, or support, to the bargaining team. You can also use the forums to discuss bargaining, but please remember to keep it professional.
Seattle Mariners Package (Last Announcement)
It has been several years since we had an LCCEF Seattle Mariners trip. We are reaching out to see if there is interest in this trip. We need at least 20 people to get the package deal. If you are interested please contact Alen Bahret. The package has always included round trip train, a stay at the Crowne Plaza in Seattle and tickets to the game. Thank you Alen for taking this on!
