Lisa Rupp is an interim manager in Public Safety. The hiring process for the Chief of Police position that she is in has been active for several months now. Lisa has not applied for this position.

There have been members who have expressed concern about the status of our COPE, committee on political education, chair.
We regret any misunderstanding or confusion regarding whether she was in a management position while also acting as a union officer.
The union recognizes that such confusion or misunderstanding could create a chilling effect for our membership making them reluctant to approach the union leadership with an issue.
In order to avoid a similar situation in the future LCCEF will take steps to ensure that any person in union leadership who leaves the bargaining unit, even temporarily, will be immediately relieved of any leadership role and responsibilities.
Their position will also be listed as vacant, though the union may or may not choose to fill that vacancy on a temporary basis.
They will also be removed from leadership email lists and shared file access permissions.
