Dear Classified Union Members,
This budget cycle we are trying to create a consensus budget again. Today is the first of our forums. Now is the time to come forward with ideas and concerns. The board has said they will not entertain changes after the budget has been received. In other words there isn’t a future date that would be a better time to share your views. We have a budget forum today to discuss what to consider early in the budget process, and there will be another forum March 7 (2-3.30, cml 225) where we hope to have potential budget proposals to discuss. Here are the details that came out in the Lane Weekly:
CAMPUS BUDGET FORUM, THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 2:30 P.M.
The Budget Development Subcommittee of College Council is holding an all campus budget forum on Thursday, January 25, 2:30-4 p.m. in CML 104. The subcommittee will provide information about the budget development calendar and timelines, and a budget outlook for the coming year. Discussion will be organized around enrollment and retention issues and opportunities and ideas for improving efficiencies. All students, faculty, staff and managers are encouraged to participate. Remote access is available through https://www.lanecc.edu/it/media/live-streaming and also through the budget blog at https://blogs.lanecc.edu/budget/ Submitted by College Services.
